David Lindo has introduced millions of readers and TV viewers in Britain to the joys of observing birds. Last month he came to Kenya to sample some of Kenya‛s outstanding 1,100 different species of birds. He was hosted by the Kenya Tourist Board and Nature Kenya.
Among the sites David Lindo visited are Olorgesailie Prehstoric Site in the Great Rift Valley and Nairobi National Park, Uhuru Gardens National Monument and the Nairobi Arboretum in Nairobi. On the Kinangop Plateau, he photographed Sharpe‛s Longclaw, a bird found only in Kenya. The highlight of David Lindo‛s visit to Kenya was the launch of Being A Bird, a new book on bird behaviour, ecology and conservation for young readers, published by Nature Kenya – the East Africa Natural History Society. On his return to UK, David said “I had an amazing time! The folks out there are brilliant – both as hosts and wildlife experts. I‛m writing and talking about Nairobi, and I have been blogging and facebooking throughout!”
