Jatropha Curcas at the Tana Delta
KENYA is currently struggling with a serious energy crisis precipitated by the spiraling price of petroleum, which has pushed up transport and food costs fuelling inflation.
While biofuels, especially Jatropha curcas, are being promoted as the best alternative fuel in the ongoing crisis, scientific and economic evidence indicates otherwise, especially in areas where it is introduced as a new crop.
